An exciting opportunity has arisen for a mental health nurse to join us as a B6 MA Nurse in Memory Assessment Service (MAS) working across both Wrexham and Flintshire sites.

We will provide you with the opportunity to develop transferrable skills - to become specialised in the assessment process by further developing your assessment techniques whilst carrying out indepth first line assessments; collecting and collating information in an appropriate format to present to your MDT colleagues; sharing and discussing sensitive information as well as participating in the diagnostic process; providing knowledge and support during those early days of diagnosis as well as being involved with initial therapeutic group/ individual work.

The role will require a mix of nursing skills from a range of professional specialist areas – Primary Care, Liaison, Adult Mental Health and Older Person’s Mental Health. As the B6 you will be expected to lead an area of the MAS in the absence of the manager.

The successful candidate will be a part of the Memory Assessment Service where they will work with those who are experiencing cognitive changes and have concerns regarding Dementia. The successful candidate will undertake responsibility of the Memory Assessment Service in the absence of the manager. They will be required to divide their time equally between a clinic and community care setting due to the large rural geographical area with limited transport links and problematic mobile phone reception.
