Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Operations Lead to be part of the engine room, who will take ownership of maintenance activities within our manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for a practical, technically strong leader who leads from the floor. You will balance day-to-day maintenance execution with team leadership, planning, and continuous improvement to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and production uptime.
Due to the fast pace of the business, you will be required to work well under pressure, be robust in character, pragmatic, with pace and patience, and have a positive solutions-based approach.
Market rate base salary / package subject to experience
LocationMalvern, Worcestershire
Responsibilities- Lead and actively participate in planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on production equipment
- Lead and support the Maintenance Engineer and Apprentice in daily tasks
- Provide training and mentoring to the Apprentice, fostering skill development
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Coordinate daily maintenance priorities to support production schedules
- Drive root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions
- Own maintenance planning, scheduling, and spare parts management
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
- Liaise with production and external contractors as required
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
- Professional qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
- Maths and English GCSE (A-C)
- Microsoft Office / Excel / Databases and spreadsheets (basic)
- Proven experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment, with strong hands‑on technical background (mechanical and/or electrical)
- Professional, responsible, and confident decision maker with a good sense of what is right
- Previous experience leading or mentoring maintenance teams
- Ability to diagnose complex equipment faults under pressure
- Practical understanding of preventive maintenance systems
- Strong safety mindset and problem‑solving skills
- Comfortable working on the tools while managing priorities
- Fluent in the English language, with effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Driving licence required, willingness to travel to other sites in the UK and suppliers in UK/Europe.
- Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, 40 hours per week.
- Overtime available subject to business needs
Commutable from Bromyard, Droitwich Spa, Evesham, Hereford, Ledbury, Malvern, Pershore, Tewkesbury, Worcester.
