Heavy Maintenance Fitter – Arriva Train Care

Salary – £40,018.66 per annum

We provide high quality overhaul, maintenance and servicing of passenger rolling stock, locomotives, freight wagons and track plant. We operate throughout the UK from six strategic locations – Crewe, Bristol, Eastleigh, Cambridge, Tyne Yard and Scarborough.

We are looking for a Heavy Maintenance Fitter to support upcoming projects at our Bristol depot. Tasks include fitting floors, paneling, seating, tables, windows and doors within the interior of rolling stock, as well as electrical installation and replacement of traction and rolling stock components. Work will involve modifications in accordance with specified procedures and installing and terminating vehicle control wiring harnesses.

• Carry out maintenance and overhaul of rail vehicles to established standards and procedures.
• Complete work allocated by the Service Delivery Leader to recognised standards.
• Operate rail vehicles within depot operating limits, following relevant operating procedures.
• Ensure safety procedures and documents are adhered to in accordance with VMI and local work instructions.
• Sign off worksheets upon completion of work.
• Use correct PPE in line with standards and local instructions.

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Engineering.
• Previous experience in rail vehicle maintenance activities is desirable.
• Good understanding of depot operations and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge.
