Maintenance Assistant - Grounds

Operational Estates are looking for an enthusiastic Maintenance Assistant in the Grounds Department who will be based at Wrexham Maelor Hospital but can expect to work at any of our community sites.

• External general site maintenance & repairs
• Grass & hedge cutting
• Clearance of road gulleys and drainage systems
• Operation of machinery and equipment as per the JD
• Manual labour for the function and operation of the Estate
• Transportation of materials, equipment and tools to facilitate the operational estate service
• Working on drainage systems
• Repairs to fencing, barriers and gates
• Erection of scaffold towers to appropriate standards
• Access equipment safety inspections
• Assistance to building maintenance craftsmen to enable them to fully carry out their duties

Previous experience enabling maintenance on healthcare properties, including Wrexham Maelor Hospital and other community sites.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable;
Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Annual leave allowance: 28 days on appointment and up to 5 years service, 30 days after 5 and 10 years service and 34 days over 10 years service plus 8 Bank Holidays (pro rata for part-time staff).
