Assistant Team Manager – Safeguarding and DoLS Team About the Role

Wrexham’s Adult Safeguarding and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Team has a full‑time vacancy as Assistant Team Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to further develop your management skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide advice on professional practice
  • Ensure the Team operates effectively to meet the needs of the individual clients in line with legislative responsibility
  • Plan, allocate and evaluate work carried out by the team to affect efficient running of the service
  • Provide guidance and supervision to employees
  • Develop effective teams and facilitate positive working relationships
  • Deputise for the Team Manager when required

We are looking to recruit an Assistant Team Manager with a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience, particularly in the protection of vulnerable adults, the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014 and Wales Safeguarding Procedures 2019.

Key selection criteria:

  • Supervision experience
  • Advanced communication skills
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of adults at risk and the Wales Safeguarding Procedures
  • A commitment to develop management and leadership skills
  • Commitment to support continued professional development with monthly supervision sessions and an active training programme

Additional requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS check
  • Health and Care Professions Council registration
