Assistant Team Manager – Wrexham Children Services (Leaving Care Team)
Full time, 37 hours per week
OverviewSocial Work qualification required. You will support our continuous improvement journey and best practice approach, contributing to the highly rated inspection outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support children and families through the Leaving Care process, ensuring high quality practice and child‑centred outcomes.
- Manage and supervise qualified and unqualified workers, maintaining professional standards through formal and informal supervision.
- Act as mentor and lead induction of new staff, and provide regular guidance and development opportunities.
- Provide management oversight for referrals, complex cases and collaborate with the team manager to deliver high performing practice.
- Stay up to date with legislation, best practice and facilitate continuous professional development through training opportunities.
- Support the development of staff to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people within the team.
- Chair meetings and communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding cases and team progress.
- Current Social Work qualification.
- Experience as a front‑line children’s social worker.
- Previous experience managing complex cases and supervising staff.
- Excellent communication and chairing meeting skills.
- Self‑confident decision‑making and proactive management style.
- Enhanced DBS check and Social Care Wales registration.
- Up to 32 days annual leave.
