Assistant Team Manager – Assessment & Intervention Team

About the Role

The Assessment and Intervention Team is seeking an Assistant Team Manager to join our management team. This role will involve supervising staff, ensuring safeguarding procedures, and maintaining high performance standards within statutory timescales.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support up to six social workers and students on placement.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures and compliance with the All Wales Child Protection Procedures.
  • Lead investigations and protect children from harm.
  • Organise and chair team meetings, conduct staff appraisals, and monitor performance.
  • Assist the manager with staff recruitment and selection.
  • Plan, allocate, and evaluate resources to ensure efficient team operation.
  • Work effectively in a fast‑paced environment with changing priorities and conflicting deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Enhanced DBS check.
  • Social Care Wales registration.
  • Strong decision‑making, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience supervising a team in social care or a related field.
