A once in a generation opportunity to shape the future of a place.
This is Neath Port Talbot. A place of ambition, resilience and opportunity.
Positioned at the heart of South Wales, we are a borough with proud communities, stunning natural assets, significant industrial heritage and a clear vision for the future. With major regeneration programmes underway, substantial investment being secured and an ambitious corporate agenda, this is an exciting time to join us.
As part of our continued investment in leadership capacity, we are creating a new Strategic Director of Place and Economy role. This is more than a leadership appointment. It is a rare opportunity to shape the long term future of Neath Port Talbot and leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive as a key member of our Strategic Leadership Team, you will lead a broad and influential portfolio that includes Housing and Communities, Property and Regeneration, and Leisure, Tourism, Heritage and Culture. You will be responsible for developing and delivering a bold vision for place, driving regeneration, promoting inclusive economic growth and ensuring our communities thrive.
We are seeking an exceptional strategic leader with a proven track record of delivering transformational outcomes within complex public, private or regulated environments. You will bring significant experience of leading large-scale regeneration, economic development, infrastructure, housing, place-making or related programmes, alongside the ability to build strong partnerships across government, business, investors and communities.
This role requires someone who can think long-term whilst delivering tangible results today. A leader who understands the power of collaboration, who can navigate complexity and political environments with confidence, and who is passionate about creating places where people want to live, work, invest and visit.
Most importantly, you will share our ambition for Neath Port Talbot and recognise the unique opportunity this role presents. The decisions you make and the partnerships you build will help shape the borough for decades to come.
