Electrical Maintenance Engineer
• Wrexham • £50,000 to £53,000
• 4 on 4 off days and nights

Role Overview

A multi‑skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving production machinery within a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment. The role is primarily electrically biased (60%) with mechanical responsibilities (40%), ensuring maximum equipment reliability, minimal downtime, and compliance with food safety and health & safety standards.

Key Responsibilities Electrical (60%)
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production and packaging machinery
  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems
  • Work with control panels, sensors, drives, and PLC systems
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring electrical issues
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant safety regulations
Mechanical (40%)
  • Perform mechanical maintenance on conveyors, motors, belts, and gearboxes
  • Assist with breakdown repairs to minimise production downtime
  • Carry out routine inspections and equipment servicing
  • Support installation and commissioning of new machinery
Skills & Experience Required
  • Electrically biased engineer with strong fault‑finding ability
  • Experience with in manufacturing (food/FMCG preferred)
  • Knowledge of PLC systems and automated machinery
  • Good understanding of mechanical systems and components
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
