Job Summary
CECO Environmental invites a Fabricator Welder (Level 3 or equivalent) to join its production team at Wakefield Acoustics. The role involves fabricating and welding bespoke acoustic enclosures to BSEN 1090 standards, interpreting complex engineering drawings, and ensuring timely, high‑quality production across three company sites.
Your Responsibilities Will Be- Fabricate and weld bespoke acoustic enclosures to BSEN 1090 standard.
- Accurately read and interpret engineering drawings for quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Assemble products to specification following painting and finishing.
- Operate machinery such as guillotine, band saw, press brake, pillar drill, and various hand tools safely and effectively.
- Ensure work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Perform self‑inspection and maintain high levels of workmanship and quality control.
- Work independently using initiative to solve problems and manage tasks to meet production deadlines.
- Support continuous‑improvement initiatives and maintain a tidy, safe, efficient workspace.
- Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Fabrication & Welding.
- Strong MIG/TIG welding experience and competency in fabricating with sheet metal and frameworks, following welding procedure specifications (WPS).
- Experience operating fabrication machinery: guillotine, band saw, press brake, pillar drill, and hand tools.
- Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
- Thorough understanding of BSEN 1090 fabrication standards.
- Good knowledge of workplace health and safety protocols.
- High attention to detail with ability to work to tight tolerances.
- Valid Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.
- Overhead crane operation experience.
- IPAF qualification for mobile elevated work platform use.
The hours of work are Monday‑Thursday 06:00‑15:00 and Friday 06:00‑11:00 (39 hours per week). Pay rate is £17.65 per hour.
