CDS Labour are currently looking for an experienced Assistant Hatchery Manager to join a well-established modern hatchery operation based in Wrexham.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious supervisor or manager from a poultry, agricultural, manufacturing, or production environment to develop their career within a thriving operation. Working alongside the Hatchery Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of chick quality, animal welfare, biosecurity, and operational performance.

The Role of Hatchery Manager:
• Supporting the day-to-day management of hatchery operations
• Assisting with egg intake, incubation, hatching, chick handling, and dispatch activities
• Supervising, training, and motivating hatchery staff to achieve operational targets
• Supporting workforce planning and allocating daily tasks effectively
• Monitoring team performance and maintaining high operational standards
• Coordinating egg and chick transportation schedules
• Ensuring full compliance with health & safety, hygiene, and biosecurity procedures
• Assisting with routine maintenance and fault-finding of hatchery equipment
• Maintaining accurate production records and performance data
• Supporting audits, inspections, and compliance requirements
• Responding to operational challenges and providing out-of-hours support when required
• Deputising for the Hatchery Manager during their periods of absence
What we need from you:
• Previous supervisory or management experience within a production, agricultural, poultry, or manufacturing environment
• Strong leadership and people-management skills
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities
• Good computer literacy and record-keeping skills
• Strong understanding of health & safety procedures and workplace compliance
Desirable Requirements:
• Previous poultry or hatchery experience
• Knowledge of animal welfare and biosecurity standards
