Salary: £51,000
Shift: 4on 4off - (2 Days & 2 Nights)
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established, high-volume food manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced production environment where engineering reliability, safety and continuous improvement are key priorities.
The Role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that production equipment and site machinery remain safe, reliable and operational. You will work closely with the production team to minimise downtime and support continuous improvement across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production and packaging machinery.
Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
Complete preventative maintenance schedules and engineering checks.
Identify recurring faults and contribute to long-term solutions.
Support equipment installation, commissioning and improvement projects.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
Work in accordance with all health & safety, food safety and company procedures.
Collaborate with production and other engineering colleagues to maximise plant efficiency.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
Experience working with automated production or packaging machinery.
A recognised engineering qualification such as an apprenticeship, NVQ, HNC or equivalent.
The ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Experience with in food or FMCG manufacturing would be highly advantageous.
