The Opportunity
Due to ongoing investment and continued growth, a leading advanced manufacturing organisation is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join its established engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly technical production environment, supporting critical manufacturing assets and contributing to operational excellence.  Working on a permanent full-time basis, you will provide reactive and planned maintenance support across a range of sophisticated machine tools and production equipment.

Your duties and responsibilities will be:
Provide first-line maintenance support for machine and equipment breakdowns.
Diagnose and rectify electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
Interrogate machine control systems using engineering drawings and schematics.
Install and maintain three-phase power supplies and support new equipment commissioning.
Carry out spindle, drive and auxiliary equipment replacement and repair activities.
Complete planned preventative maintenance activities in line with the maintenance schedule.
Perform machine alignment, repair and optimisation activities.
Support spare parts management and maintenance inventory control.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and associated documentation.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency and overall maintenance performance.
Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
Support and mentor less experienced team members where required.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
Time-served engineering qualification or recognised equivalent.
Proven experience within machine tool maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience.
Experience using CNC machine controls as part of the fault diagnosis process.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical schematics.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work a rotating shift pattern.
It’s great if you also have the following
Experience working with Siemens 840D control systems.
Knowledge of large CNC machining centres and 5-axis milling machines.
Understanding of fabrication, machining and metal treatment processes.
Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Previous mentoring or coaching experience.

Experience with in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
The setting for the role
Based within a large-scale advanced manufacturing facility in North Wales, this role operates on a 24/7 shift pattern averaging 42 hours per week. You will join an experienced maintenance team responsible for supporting critical production machinery and ensuring maximum equipment availability in a fast-paced, technically demanding environment.
