Permanent Nights Monday – Thursday | 12‑Hour Shifts
Wrexham
Role Overview
As a Senior CNC Operator, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality, efficient machining across the night shift. You will set, operate, and optimise CNC machinery, ensure all components meet specification, and support continuous improvement across your designated area. Working closely with operators, setters, and engineering teams, you’ll help maintain high standards of quality, safety, and performance throughout the shift.
Key Responsibilities
Set, operate, and monitor CNC machines to produce components to required specifications.
Complete tooling changes, machine setups, offsets, and adjustments to maintain accuracy and throughput.
Carry out first‑off inspections, in‑process checks, and final quality verification.
Ensure all production paperwork, quality records, and machine data are completed accurately.
Maintain high standards of Health & Safety, housekeeping, and 6S within the machining area.
Support operators and junior setters with training, guidance, and troubleshooting.
Work with Team Leaders and Engineering to plan workloads, manage priorities, and minimise downtime.
Report machine faults, breakdowns, and maintenance requirements promptly, following up on urgent issues.
Contribute to tooling trials, process improvements, and development activities.
Operate additional machinery or equipment when required to support production targets.
Candidate Requirements
Strong experience in CNC operation within a production or manufacturing environment.
Confident in machine setup, tooling changes, offsets, and precision machining.
Solid understanding of machining processes, quality standards, and Health & Safety.
Ability to read engineering drawings and use measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges).
Proven ability to work independently on night shifts while supporting wider team performance.
IT literate with good communication and organisational skills.
Proactive, hands‑on approach with strong problem‑solving ability.
