We are looking for a full time dynamic and enthusiastic Band 3 HCSW to join Wrexham Maelor’s Children’s Ward. The ward has a very motivated and enthusiastic multidisciplinary team with a clear vision of providing the best possible evidence based care to the children and young people who access our services for all specialities.
Your role will be to work alongside them and will be integral to the smooth running of a very busy ward. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post;
Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. The Children’s Ward comprises of general ward areas, isolation cubicles, Admissions and Assessment Unit and High Dependency Unit. Our age range of clients is 0-18 years. We care for a variety of admissions including day case, ward attender, short stay, long stay, and repeat admissions. These admissions can be from several specialties such as General and Specialist Paediatric medical conditions e.g. oncology and children with disability as well as ENT, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Dermatology and CAMHS.
Your role will be to undertake assigned tasks involving direct and indirect care for the child, young person and their family in support of and supervised by a registered nurse. You will also be required to supervise and care for children and young people admitted to the children’s ward under the joint care of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services team.
This is a rotational post and you will be required to work days, nights and bank holidays.
