The Setup: 500-cow spring block calving herd | Grazed grass setup | People-first mindset
The VibeWe dont just farm, we build great teams, grow premium grass, and run a serious, high-performing business. If you think dairy farming should be rewarding, well-organized, and run alongside people who actually enjoy coming to work every day, youre looking at the right job description. We are looking for a Herd Manager or Co-Manager to step into a leadership role where culture comes first, stockmanship is an art, and grass is green gold.
Who You Are ......- The People Magnet:
You know that standard operating procedures are great, but genuine leadership, clear communication, and respect for the team are what actually keep the wheels turning. You lead from the front, listen, and bring out the best in everyone on the farm. - The Stock Person:
You have an eye for detail, care deeply about animal welfare, and take pride in running a tight spring calving block where cow health and fertility metrics shine. - The Grass & Profit Geek:
You understand how quality grazed grass drives the bottom line. You enjoy measuring, wedge management, and turning sunlight into margin. - The Systemiser:
You love organization. Clean whiteboards, clear routines, smooth drafting, and stress-free handovers make you smile.
- Leading & Supporting:
Co-managing daily operations, fostering a positive work environment, and helping mentor staff and trainees. - Managing the Block:
Taking charge during the dynamic spring calving rush through to breeding and drying off. - Mastering the Grazing:
Allocating covers, monitoring residuals, and optimizing low-cost, high-yield grass utilization. - Tracking the Tech & Data:
Keeping health, breeding, and production records sharp to drive farm profitability.
- Culture That Matters: A progressive, friendly, and supportive environment where work-life balance isn't just a buzzword.
- Room to Grow:
Serious opportunities for responsibility, professional development, and strategic input into the business. - Top-Tier Grassland
Location:
Pembrokeshire mild winters, long growing seasons, and incredible coastal scenery right on your doorstep.
- Highly competitive salary reflective of experience, excellent accommodation options, and scheduled, predictable time off.
If you have the passion for cows, the drive for pasture, and the mindset to build a top-tier team, lets have a chat.
