A global pharmaceutical organisation in North Wales is seeking an experienced Senior Equipment Officer (QC Systems) to play a key role in leading a team to manage and maintain critical laboratory equipment and computerised systems.
The ideal equipment officer would be someone with strong experience working in a GMP analytical or QC laboratory doing computer system validation (CSV) who wants experience leading a team. The suitable equipment officer would have the following responsibilities.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team responsible for calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of QC equipment.
* Provide technical expertise on laboratory instrumentation, from procurement and qualification through to validation and lifecycle management.
* Manage and support GMP-relevant QC computerised systems (e.g., Empower), including user administration, audit trail reviews, and data integrity compliance.
* Deliver validation activities, including protocol writing and execution, particularly for computer system validation (CSV).
* Support QC operations through deviation investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality within QC.
Requirements
* Strong laboratory experience in a pharmaceutical (or equivalent GMP-regulated) environment.
* Sound knowledge of QC analytical techniques and instrumentation (e.g., Karl Fischer titrators, chromatography data systems).
* Experience with computerised systems, ideally CDS software such as Empower, and a grounding in Computer System Validation (CSV).
* Proven troubleshooting on QC instrumentation (HPLC and KF) and systems.
* Supervisory or project leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
* Strong communicator with a proactive attitude.
