Key Responsibilities Lead and promote a strong Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) culture across the site. Manage hazard identification, risk assessments and process safety activities, ensuring risks are reduced to ALARP standards. Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality legislation, permits and company policies. Oversee site SHEQ management systems, including audits, inspections, emergency planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead incident, accident and near-miss investigations, ensuring effective corrective and preventative actions are implemented. Manage contractor safety, site inductions and SHEQ training to maintain a competent and compliant workforce. Oversee occupational health programmes, including COSHH, health surveillance, noise, vibration and other statutory monitoring requirements. Monitor environmental performance, regulatory compliance and energy management, liaising with regulators where required. Manage customer quality matters, including Duty of Care audits, customer visits and complaint investigations.
Provide technical SHEQ advice and support to site operations, identifying opportunities to improve plant performance, safety and compliance. Produce SHEQ performance reports and sustainability data, supporting corporate reporting and environmental initiatives. Do you have what it takes? Level 6 qualification in Health & Safety or Environment, or equivalent competence Degree qualified in a scientific discipline, or equivalent industry experience An analytical and investigative approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
The ability to balance environmental, health & safety, quality and operational priorities. A strong understanding of Environmental Permitting and environmental compliance. Strong knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality management systems Sound understanding of HSE legislation, guidance and standards Strong communication and presentation skills, with confidence at senior level Self-motivated with a proactive, can-do approach Effective stakeholder engagement, including regulators and external bodies Solid IT skills, including MS Office What's in for you?
