The Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) offers an Early Independence: NERC Independent Research Fellowship for established researchers in environmental science. This fellowship supports early-career researchers to develop their careers via independent research hosted at eligible UK research organisations.
Fellowships last 5 years, with a flexible work arrangement. Applications close on June 16, 2026, and 80% of the project's full economic cost is covered.
