About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated National Key Account Manager to support the growth of Wockhardt’s branded product portfolio across targeted GP practices and primary care accounts.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing account plans, engaging with relevant NHS stakeholders, and promoting Wockhardt’s products in a compliant and effective manner. The role will focus on increasing product awareness, strengthening customer relationships, and identifying opportunities to grow market share within priority accounts.
This is a national role requiring strong relationship-building skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams to deliver agreed business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement account plans for priority accounts, aligned to commercial objectives.
- Identify opportunities to increase product awareness and grow market share within target accounts.
- Support market access activities where appropriate, including formulary inclusion, pathway understanding, and account-level opportunity assessment.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with GPs, practice-based pharmacists, prescribing leads and other relevant primary care stakeholders.
- Identify key decision-makers, prescribing influencers and local prescribing drivers within targeted accounts.
- Maintain accurate CRM records of customer interactions, account plans, opportunities, and market intelligence.
- Monitor local market dynamics, competitor activity, and customer needs, sharing relevant insights with the wider commercial team.
- Work collaboratively with Marketing, Medical, Regulatory, Commercial, and Market Access teams to ensure consistent and compliant customer engagement.
- Provide regular updates on account progress, customer feedback, risks, and opportunities.
- Deliver agreed sales targets, account objectives, and KPIs.
- Ensure all activities comply with the ABPI Code of Practice and Wockhardt’s internal policies.
- Maintain ABPI qualification and participate in ongoing training and professional development.
- Proven experience in pharmaceutical sales, key account management, or healthcare sales.
- Experience engaging with prescribers, pharmacists, and NHS stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of the UK pharmaceutical market and NHS structure.
- Ability to develop and implement account plans that support commercial objectives.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify growth opportunities within key accounts.
- Ability to interpret clinical and commercial information and communicate clear customer value propositions.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities across a national territory.
- Resilient, proactive, and adaptable, with the ability to perform effectively in a competitive and highly regulated environment.
- Experience supporting formulary access activities or local market access initiatives.
- Experience working with branded pharmaceutical products.
- Understanding of local prescribing pathways and NHS decision-making processes.

You will be working from our Wrexham based site which is home to our MHRA approved sterile injectable manufacturing facility.
