Senior Business Development Consultant – Contract Packing 6-Month Consultancy | Senior Level | New Business | Contract Packing / Co-Packing Are you a senior commercial professional with an established network within the contract packing or co-packing sector and a proven track record of winning new business? We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Development Consultant to help drive the next stage of commercial growth.

This is a genuine new business opportunity for someone who knows the market (Contract Packing), knows where the opportunities are and, most importantly, has the relationships and commercial credibility to open doors and turn conversations into profitable business.

The Role Working directly with the Managing Director and alongside the existing commercial team, you will have the autonomy to identify, develop and convert new contract packing opportunities. Your focus will include:
Identifying and targeting organisations with outsourced contract packing requirements Leveraging your existing industry network to create introductions and senior-level conversations Building relationships with decision-makers across Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations and Commercial Identifying strategic accounts, tenders and outsourcing opportunities Managing opportunities through the full sales cycle – from initial introduction through qualification, quotation, trials and negotiation to contract Developing a strong, measurable new business pipeline Working with the operational team to ensure opportunities are commercially viable and deliverable Focusing on profitable, sustainable business and margin , not simply turnover Providing market intelligence and regular commercial updates About You We are looking for someone operating at a genuinely senior commercial level who can demonstrate:
Significant B2B business development experience Strong knowledge of the contract packing / co-packing sector An established network of relevant industry contacts A proven track record of personally winning significant new customers and contracts Experience dealing with senior Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations and Commercial decision-makers Strong commercial negotiation skills and an understanding of costing and margin Experience managing complex, longer B2B sales cycles The confidence and credibility to represent the business at senior customer level A proactive, hands-on approach to business development Your job title is less important than your track record, network and ability to deliver results .

Why This Opportunity? This is not a traditional sales management role, an account management position or a high-volume cold-calling exercise. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running , bring genuine industry relationships and create opportunities that can develop into significant, long-term customer relationships. The initial engagement is for six months , with a consultancy retainer plus a meaningful performance-related element linked to new business successfully generated .

You will have direct access to the Managing Director, the freedom to operate at senior level and the opportunity to make a tangible commercial impact. The role is flexible in such that hours can be set and decided to suit both yours and the business needs and does not need to confirm to the traditional 9-5. Interested?
