Child Pedestrian Skills Instructor

About the Role

This role trains children in their walking skills. Sessions take place on school yards and nearby highways.

• Work primarily with children aged 5-7 years, ensuring their safety while near and on roads.
• Collaborate with school staff to provide basic training, teaching pupils how to cross roads safely in different scenarios.
• Risk assess and lead children during walk‑by and cross‑road activities.

• Necessary resources and personal protective equipment supplied by Wrexham County Borough Council.

• Experience working with children.
• Positive attitude and confidence in risk assessment and leadership.

• Ability to risk assess and lead children safely near roads.
• Commitment to promoting walking as a healthy and safe mode of travel.
