Generic Parenting Team‑Family Practitioner

30 hours per week.

The role involves working in a team to provide individual and group parenting support to families across Wrexham for children aged 0‑18. It includes delivering parenting programmes, offering face‑to‑face support to improve home management, parenting skills and household budgeting, and referring families to appropriate agencies.

• Provide face‑to‑face parenting support and conduct parenting group programmes.
• Teach parents effective strategies for managing behavioural difficulties and educating children through play.
• Develop children’s physical and emotional care skills and manage household budgets.
• Identify and refer families experiencing substance misuse at an early intervention level.
• Maintain accurate records of support provided and facilitate referrals.

• Excellent communication, written and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with parents and families.
• Experience running parenting programmes is desirable but not essential.
• Driving ability not essential; ability to travel flexibly across Wrexham is required.
• Commitment to working within an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services Check framework.
