Responsibilities
The Financial Assessment Team is responsible for undertaking Financial Assessments on behalf of all citizens who receive funded support from the Council. The Team oversees over 600 active placements within Care Homes placed both locally and nationwide and is responsible for payments exceeding £30million each year to these Care Homes, as well as generating income secured against properties. Additionally we also generate income for care provided at home via monthly invoicing.
You will ensure that all new and review assessments are completed in a timely and accurate way and are compliant with the current legislation. You will work independently and as part of a team and be able to engage and work alongside a number of partner organisations including Care Homes and the Department for Work and Pensions.
You do not need to have previously worked in finance, however, we are looking for an individual familiar with the pressures of a fast‑paced working environment where deadlines need to be met and staff can work proactively and independently. You must have suitable experience in using Microsoft packages, e.g. Word, Excel: should possess excellent verbal, written, numerical and communication skills; demonstrate a competent understanding of Wrexham Council’s Charging policy on Paying for Care and associated requirements of the Social Services and Well‑being (Wales) Act 2014.
QualificationsExperience using Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent verbal, written, numerical and communication skills. Understanding of Wrexham Council’s Charging policy and the Social Services and Well‑being Act 2014. Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment. DBS check required.
