We are seeking a positive, enthusiastic, flexible and community minded Library Assistant to join our busy library environment. In this rewarding front-line role, you will deliver excellent customer service, handle customer enquiries, participate in children’s activities and reader development, to promote a lifelong love of reading and learning. You will work as part of a dedicated team across our local branch network undertaking clerical and administrative work to keep the service running smoothly.

Candidates must be flexible to work a rotating shift pattern in any of our libraries at any time on an as and when basis, therefore the ability to travel across the county borough to work is essential.

The minimum educational requirement is 5 GCSE passes Grade C or above (or equivalent). The ability to speak Welsh is desirable.

You will be expected to work within the following core opening times:
Monday – Friday 9.00-6.00pm
Saturday – 9.00-4.00pm

* Please note:

Although there may be regular work, there is no guarantee of a particular number of hours each week as this will depend on cover required for annual leave and sickness absence.
