Be the difference in someone's journey to independence.

At Clwyd Alyn, we're on an ambitious journey to help end poverty across North Wales. As a trusted Registered Social Landlord, we provide high-quality homes and support services that help people thrive, not just survive.

Everything we do is guided by our values of Trust, Kindness and Hope. These aren't just words on a wall. They shape how we work, how we support our residents, and how we treat each other.

We're looking for a compassionate, resilient and motivated Homeless Support Officer to join our team at Hurst Newton, where you'll play a vital role helping young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness move towards greater independence, stability and wellbeing.

About

The Role

Hurst Newton is a supported living scheme in Wrexham providing accommodation and support for young people aged 16-25 who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

As a Homeless Support Officer, you'll provide person-centred support that helps young people develop the confidence, life skills and resilience needed to move towards independent living. Using a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach, you'll build positive relationships, encourage personal development and support residents to achieve their goals.

You'll play a key role in creating a safe, supportive environment where young people can thrive.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Building positive, professional relationships with residents and providing consistent support throughout their journey.
  • Developing, reviewing and delivering person-centred support plans and risk assessments.
  • Supporting residents to access education, training, volunteering and employment opportunities.
  • Assisting residents to access benefits, healthcare services and other sources of support.
  • Encouraging life skills development, independence and tenancy readiness.
  • Facilitating activities that promote wellbeing, confidence, social inclusion and community engagement.
  • Working closely with partner agencies including housing, health, social care and support services.
  • Maintaining accurate case notes, support records and incident reporting.
  • Promoting safeguarding and always supporting the safety and wellbeing of residents.
  • Supporting safeguarding practices and promoting the safety and wellbeing of residents.
  • Undertaking housing management duties, including supporting residents with benefits, tenancy matters and rehousing pathways.
  • Contributing to a safe, welcoming and supportive environment across the service.
About You

We're looking for someone who genuinely believes in people's potential and is passionate about helping them achieve it.

You will be someone who:

  • Embodies our values of Trust, Kindness and Hope in everything you do.
  • Demonstrates empathy and understanding when working with young people who have experienced homelessness and other forms of disadvantage.
  • Builds strong, trusting relationships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Communicates effectively with a wide range of people and professionals.
  • Remains calm, confident and solution-focused when faced with challenging situations.
  • Shows resilience and emotional intelligence when supporting people with complex needs.
