Make a Difference to Children, Young People and Foster Families

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker / Experienced Social Worker to join a dedicated Fostering Service in Wrexham.

The Fostering Service plays a vital role in achieving safe, stable and positive outcomes for children and young people, supporting foster carers and families to provide nurturing and secure environments.

As a Social Worker within the Fostering Service, you will be part of a supportive and committed team, contributing to a range of important functions including the recruitment, assessment, training and ongoing support of foster carers and families.

About the Role

The Fostering Service comprises four dedicated hubs, each with its own functions, roles and responsibilities. You will be based within one of these specialist hubs, with the opportunity to work across different hubs depending on the needs of the service.

Your work will involve supporting a diverse range of carers and families, including:

* Generic Foster Carers

* Champion Foster Carers

* Connected Foster Carers

* Families with Special Guardianship Orders

* Supported Lodgings Hosts

* When I’m Ready Foster Carers

You will play an important role in helping carers develop their skills and confidence, ensuring children and young people receive the support, care and stability they need.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a qualified Social Worker or Experienced Social Worker who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people.

You will bring:

* A professional and child-centred approach to social work.

* Experience of working with children, young people, families or carers.

* Strong assessment, communication and relationship-building skills.

* The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

* A commitment to safeguarding and achieving positive outcomes.

* The flexibility to work across different areas of the Fostering Service when required.

* Social Care Wales Registered
