About the role

As a Rail Replacement Coordinator you will be the face of First Travel Solutions (FTS). Your responsibilities include supervising and coordinating the safe and timely operation of our rail replacement bus, events and coach services, ensuring the safety of passengers, colleagues, and the public. You will provide assistance and information to passengers, maintain high standards in data collection via our coordination portal, and help FTS maintain vehicle standards and audit compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate rail‑replacement bus operations.
  • Ensure the safety of passengers, colleagues, and the public.
  • Provide assistance and information to passengers and demonstrate excellent customer service.
  • Maintain high standards of data collection through the coordination portal.
  • Assist with vehicle maintenance standards and regulatory auditing.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience in the transport industry is desirable but not essential.
  • Commitment to consistently excellent customer service.
  • Confidence in engaging drivers on regulations and adherence to PSVAR/PSVAIR.
  • Strong communication and approachable style.
  • Patient, reliable and calm under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, using initiative.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shift times, including early mornings, evenings, late nights and weekends.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Physical: up to 12 hours on feet, handling passenger luggage in all weather conditions, sometimes without shelter.
  • Must have access to own transportation and be located within 10 miles of a key station.
