The inpatient psychiatric unit at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital is a 38‑bed adult unit caring for both voluntary and involuntary patients with a mental illness. Our multidisciplinary treatment team consists of Nurses, Behavioral Health Technicians, Case Managers, Occupational and Recreational Therapists, Psychiatrists, a Nurse Practitioner, and a Clinical Psychologist. The unit has an engaged leadership team of the Director of Behavioral Health Services, Nurse Manager, Assistant Clinical Manager, and Unit Educator.
ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive nursing care to adult psychiatric patients on a 36‑hour night shift. Participate in multidisciplinary team rounds and treatment planning. Assess and monitor patient mental status, administer medications, and implement safety plans. Educate patients, families, and community partners about mental health and coping strategies. Maintain accurate documentation and comply with Michigan mental health laws and insurance authorization processes.
Qualifications- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
