Job Purpose And Summary – As a Pharmacy Technician, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store. Technical roles include ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, and providing compassionate care that exceeds patient expectations. You will work under Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices, with a rigorous training program and licensing requirements that may restrict duties until completed.
Key Responsibilities- Apply company SOPs at each workstation to help pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, and drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, offering immunizations, and solving or escalating patient problems.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, and waiting bin inventories.
- Work as part of a high‑performing team, embracing a growth mindset and seeking opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
- Maintain flexibility for scheduling and business needs, including voluntary travel to stores in the market.
- Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and CVS policies to ensure patient safety and privacy.
- Deliver additional patient health services such as immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and, where allowed, staffing offsite clinics.
- Complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
- Educate patients about vaccines and refer questions to the pharmacist‑on‑duty.
- Monitor and respond to adverse reactions, reporting events per public health requirements.
- Review and document patient information and manage vaccine supplies.
- Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
- Meet minimum age of 16 years if not specified by the board, and hold a high school diploma or equivalent unless the board requires higher education.
- State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Complete required training within the designated timeframe.
- Maintain attention and focus through task concentration and quick pivoting.
- Provide customer service and team orientation, actively looking to help people and responding to patient reactions.
- Communicate effectively, using verbal and written skills and active listening.
- Apply mathematical reasoning to determine prescriptions, quantities, and labels.
- Resolve problems by identifying challenging interactions and selecting appropriate responses.
- Meet physical demands such as lifting, reaching, and repetitive finger use, with occasional loads up to 20 lbs.
- Perform any additional tasks directed by supervisor or manager.
- 1–3 years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations as business needs arise.

30 hrs
Time Type: Full‑time
Pay Range: $17.49 – $27.49 per hour (base hourly rate or base full‑time salary depending on geography, experience, and education).
