Salary: SCP 26 - 28 FTE £37,280 - £39,152 per annum. Pro‑rata £23,462 - £25,081 per annum, including an allowance for holiday pay

Wymondham College requires a strong administrator who has pastoral and safeguarding experience working with children and/or young adults to become our Safeguarding Coordinator, to support the Assistant Principal and other pastoral/safeguarding staff to deliver a highly effective safeguarding service within the College.
Person Specification- Ability to communicate clearly and tactfully using appropriate methods and an awareness of the impact of your own communication on others.
- Maintain positive relationships with all and work as an effective and flexible part of a team; willing to change methods of work and routines to benefit the team.
- Willingness to accept responsibility for your own actions; ability to prioritise effectively, meet deadlines and accept challenges.
- Excellent administrative skills.
- A sound knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and a willingness to increase this knowledge.
- Proven experience and success working with children and/or young adults in a pastoral setting, particularly experience working with vulnerable young people.
- Patience, tolerance and sensitivity along with a mature and non‑judgemental outlook.
- The ability to work with initiative and meet deadlines.
- The ability to prioritise and assess emerging issues.
- A willingness to work flexibly.
- Experience and/or training in counselling or listening skills.
- Previous experience of working within a safeguarding team.
- A trained Designated Safeguarding Lead (training can be provided if not).
- Previous experience working with statutory bodies on welfare issues.
