We’re looking for a Design Engineer to join our Design team based in Wymondham, Norfolk. You will contribute to the delivery of complex construction engineering services, supporting project teams with safe, compliant and buildable design solutions while continuing to develop technical and professional capability.

Hours:

40 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available if desired.

• Support the delivery of complex temporary works and construction engineering solutions within the Construction Engineering team, ensuring designs are safe and buildable.
• Produce and check temporary works designs, integrating with permanent works where required.
• Support bids and tenders through outline designs, feasibility studies and buildable engineering solutions.
• Contribute to design outputs including calculations, drawings, reports and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with CDM, SHEMS and QMS.
• Identify technical risks and opportunities for value engineering under appropriate supervision.
• Attend site visits, inspections and meetings, providing technical support to design, site and tender teams.

• Completed IEng or CEng Initial Professional Development with a relevant professional institution (e.g., ICE) or equivalent qualifications and experience.
• Experience in temporary works design within a construction or engineering environment.
• Good understanding of buildability, safety and compliance within construction engineering.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with designers, site teams and clients.
• A proactive and motivated engineer committed to continuous professional development.
