The Role
As Engineering Manager, you'll be responsible for leading a small engineering team while ensuring multiple engineering projects are delivered on time and to the highest technical standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, mentor and develop a small team of engineers.
- Manage multiple R&D and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from concept through to production.
- Remain hands-on with the design and development of bespoke electro-mechanical products.
- Oversee the development of manufacturing processes, tooling, jigs and fixtures.
- Work closely with production and programme teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully.
- Act as the technical point of contact for customers, providing engineering support and project updates.
- Support technical quotations, engineering documentation and engineering change activities.
- Drive continuous improvement across engineering processes and product development.
- Collaborate with international engineering teams where required.
Our client is looking for an experienced engineer who combines strong technical ability with proven leadership skills.
Requirements- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- Previous experience leading or mentoring an engineering team.
- Strong product design experience, ideally working with electro-mechanical products.
- Experience delivering New Product Introduction (NPI) and R&D projects.
- A solid understanding of manufacturing and engineering processes.
- Experience using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Solid Works or similar.
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to work directly with customers.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of electronics would be advantageous but is not essential.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to balance technical engineering with leadership responsibilities.
- Salary up to £75,000
- 10% annual bonus based on company performance
