Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 18:00 - 21:00

Keeping the Council's buildings clean is a big priority for us. As a Cleaner, you will help us to create a safe and pleasant environment for our staff and other users of the council's facilities. Depending on your primary work location, you will undertake the cleaning of designated areas such as: office and cloakroom areas, other accommodation or wet/dry areas, changing rooms, reception and cafés.

You will ensure these are always kept in a clean and hygienic condition, thereby enhancing the overall appearance of the facility. You will be required to use a variety of cleaning equipment and chemicals, as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vacuum clean/sweep/mop all floor areas as appropriate.
  • Dust and polish all furnishings in designated areas.
  • Clean windows in accordance with the predetermined programme.
  • Clean toilets and washbasins and replenish consumables as required.
  • Assist with cleaning with Fitness Suites / studios.
  • Cleaning/Dusting of soft play (site dependent).
  • Emptying litter and recycling bins.
You Will Need
  • An understanding of the rudiments of office cleaning/ centre cleaning.
  • High standards of cleanliness with a thorough approach e.g. COSHH and manual handling.
  • The ability to prioritise and organise daily duties.
  • Good communication and customer service skills, when interacting with colleagues and members of the public.
  • The ability to work as part of a team.
  • The ability to work weekends and work flexible hours.
