Are you someone who enjoys working with your hands? Do you have a keen eye for detail, a steady hand and take pride in producing high-quality work?
We are recruiting for a Finishing Operative to join a specialist manufacturing team. This is a unique opportunity for someone who may have experience in arts, crafts, framing, model making, sign making, graphic application, restoration work, or other precision-based hobbies and interests.
No previous finishing experience is required. We are looking for people with the right attitude, attention to detail and willingness to learn.
What you'll be doing:
* Carrying out detailed finishing work on completed products
* Conducting visual quality inspections to identify any imperfections
* Sanding and filling products to achieve a high-quality finish
* Applying graphics and decals accurately and professionally
* Working with a variety of different products and materials
* Following quality standards and production specifications
* Maintaining a clean and organised workbench
What we're looking for:
* Excellent attention to detail
* Good hand-eye coordination and a steady hand
* Pride in producing high-quality work
* Ability to remain focused on intricate tasks
* Physically fit and comfortable standing at a workbench for up to 8 hours per day
* Reliable and committed with a positive attitude
Ideal backgrounds may include:
* Art or design graduates
* Model makers
* Picture framers
* Craft enthusiasts
* Sign makers
* Hobbyists involved in miniature painting or model railways
* Furniture restoration
* Jewellery making
* Precision assembly work
* Fine arts or creative industries
What’s in it for you?
In return, you’ll enjoy a great work-life balance with an early finish every Friday, giving you more time for yourself and your hobbies. You'll join a supportive and skilled team where full training is provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in manufacturing and finishing. The role offers variety, with the chance to work on a wide range of interesting products rather than repeating the same task every day.
You'll develop valuable specialist skills in precision finishing, quality inspection and graphic application, while working in a clean, organised workshop environment. Competitive pay of £12.81 per hour is offered, along with the opportunity to become part of a growing and respected business that takes pride in the quality of its products
