Location:

Salary: FTE: £42,170 per annum, Pro‑rata £22,953‑£28,768 per annum, including an allowance for holiday pay.
Vacancy Type:
Permanent, 823.50 HOURS OVER 38 WEEKS, TERM TIME PLUS 3 WEEKS.

We are seeking a committed, high‑standard Nurse (Band 6 or equivalent) to join our school Medical Centre, providing exceptional clinical, pastoral and first‑aid care to students, with strengths in mental health, adolescent wellbeing, triage and day‑to‑day medical support.

- Undertake all physical requirements of the post and use equipment according to health and safety guidelines.
- A registered Nurse (adult or child branch) with current NMC registration and at least three years nursing experience.
- Ideally qualified to RCN Band 6 or equivalent.
- Experience of working consultatively with other health professionals and support staff.
- Work as a member of an interdisciplinary team to promote health and wellness.
- Assess, implement and evaluate in‑patient care of students admitted to the Medical Centre within agreed levels of competence.
- Develop and write care plans for students requiring them, in liaison with pupils, parents and boarding house staff, and disseminate them to appropriate staff.
- Provide first aid and emergency care and treatment as necessary.
- Maintain stock of all school first aid kits.
- Provide a confidential counselling and health advice service as appropriate.
- Provide sexual health advice, e.g. contraception and emergency contraception, SAI screening, as per protocols.
- Follow good practice and specific directives on immunisation procedures relevant to the school population and individuals.
