Purpose

Stewards Individual Placements (Stewards), a program of Conservation Legacy, provides individuals with internship service and career opportunities to strengthen communities and preserve our natural resources. Participants serve with federal agencies, tribal governments, and nonprofits to provide institutional capacity, develop community relationships, and support ecosystem health. Stewards in partnership with the Grand Teton National Park will host a Business and Administrative Assistant.

The mission of the National Park Service is to provide unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the national park system for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations. Serving in an administrative/budget role will foster a "big picture" view of Grand Teton National Park and public lands management as a whole. This position will promote further appreciation for public lands management on a grand scale and will lead to networking with professionals across a variety of disciplines.

Description

Of Duties Administrative Duties
  • Processing incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Cover and assist with warehouse operations when needed (i.e. shipping and receiving, property assistance, etc.).
  • Provide communication and customer service coordination for both internal and external partners.
  • Assist with employee onboarding/offboarding and seasonal orientation procedures.
  • Properly handle sensitive documents and information, which may include PII, following record retention policies and guidance.
  • Assist Lost and Found volunteers in processing items.
  • Assist other park divisions with administrative tasks as requested.
  • Assist with generating payroll guides for timekeeping purposes on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Reconcile and audit both travel and fleet charge card statements following current policies and guidelines.
  • Accurately track monthly charge card statements for filing following record retention policies and guidance.
  • Properly dispose of budget records and files per their designated disposal date.
  • Assist Budget Officer with additional budget tasks as requested.
Budget Duties
  • Assist with generating payroll guides for timekeeping purposes on a bi-weekly basis.

  • Accurately track monthly charge card statements for filing following record retention policies and guidance.

Qualifications
  • At least 18 years of age
  • United States citizen, United States national, or a lawful permanent resident alien
  • Agrees to provide information to establish eligibility and to complete a background check.
