Branding Iron Sports Writer

Provide news, feature or game wrap up stories to newspaper for publication in print and/or online editions.

• Produce at least four stories per week.
• Pick up assignments from editor.
• Meet with editor regularly.
• Create story ideas for consideration of sports editor.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Student
• Access to personal transportation
• Newspaper experience, including writing news stories.
• Must be available to start work Aug. 18, 2025
• Must be available for publication deadlines on Sundays and Wednesday nights.
• Must be available Tuesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for training.

• Knowledge of AP and BI stylebooks
• Knowledge of basic journalistic style and how to write newspaper articles.
• Knowledge of sports and sports media coverage.
