Your New Role

As a Lead Consultant, Air Quality Professional, you will join Ramboll’s interdisciplinary team supporting clients across the Midwest and around the world. This team is made up of professionals who are deeply committed to air quality and helping clients solve complex environmental challenges. You will work alongside colleagues at all experience levels, from junior team members to highly experienced specialists, many of whom are recognized experts in their areas.

The environment is designed to support continuous learning, with development driven through mentoring, coaching, and practical project experience.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for estimating air emissions and carrying out engineering assessments of air pollution sources. You will prepare air quality permit applications and work with regulatory authorities to discuss and refine permit terms and conditions. You will contribute your technical expertise to complex projects while also supporting proposal development, technical presentations, and client discussions. Site visits to industrial facilities will be part of the role when needed, helping you better understand operations, collect relevant information, and support accurate evaluations.

You will also be expected to carefully analyze and interpret environmental regulations at the local, state, and federal levels.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering, along with the ability to obtain or already hold a Professional Engineer license. Candidates should bring at least five years of relevant experience, including proposal writing, report writing, project management, and client development. Strong computer skills are required, particularly advanced use of spreadsheets and word processing tools.

Success in this role will also depend on strong technical capability, close attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage technically demanding projects.
