Perform a variety of tasks to assure compliance with provisions of the Tribal Gaming Ordinance, Tribal Gaming Code, NIGC Regulations, and all federal and state laws. Be available to be present at the Gaming Facility at all hours of Gaming Operation when needed. Report violations of Gaming Operations, both written and oral, to the Gaming Commission. Collect complaints from Gaming operation customers and employees.
Observe all customer and employee activities, promotions, and daily tasks to ensure compliance with required internal controls.
- Investigate and report deficiencies, and organize implementation of appropriate corrective plans.
- Certify that gaming equipment complies with regulatory technical specifications.
- Ensure confidentiality of all information in the Gaming Commission Office, including information from federal, state, and tribal law enforcement agencies.
- Maintain communication with all Gaming Commissioners and staff, keeping them informed and updated on all situations and violations within the Compliance Department.
- Keep up-to-date with all Tribal Gaming Ordinances, Tribal Regulations, Tribal Internal Controls, and Compliance Laws.
- Ensure that all departments provide for the physical safety and wellbeing of Casino employees, patrons, and Gaming Commission staff.
- Determine when appropriate to complete reports for initial findings of non‑compliance and notify the Gaming Commission.
- Travel and attend training to further knowledge of compliance issues.
- Maintain control over access to sensitive/restricted areas of the gaming facility and all electronics access systems and devices.
- Conduct testing of gaming devices to ensure compliance, verify the validity of hardware/software, and confirm authorization of all gaming programs.
- Monitor all shipping, receiving, installations, relocations, removals, and storage of gaming devices to ensure security and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Inspect all gaming equipment and supplies for integrity and compliance.
- Monitor table games and drops, count room activities, supplies, and other non‑gaming department transactions for compliance.
- Write reports and conduct necessary follow‑up investigations on reported or observed violations and deficiencies.
- Maintain accurate department records, files, statistics, and other compliance monitoring activities pursuant to NIGC record retention requirements.
- Work closely with designated independent gaming test labs on development and modifications of technical specifications for gaming devices and equipment.
- Collaborate with the Gaming Commission, Internal Auditor, Surveillance Department, and Gaming Management in fulfilling responsibilities.
- Inspect and monitor gaming facility compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulatory requirements.
- Present testimony and factual information on patron disputes to the Tribal Gaming Commission.
- Extract, interpret, and analyze data from online gaming machines, data systems, and other gaming computerized data systems.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Eastern Shoshone Tribal Gaming Commission.
- Receive all incoming mail at the Casino and/or materials; disburse all outgoing correspondence; keep an incoming mail log.
- Draft daily routing for incoming mail received from the Post Office, Casino, and Tribal Office.
- High school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience in regulatory compliance or implementation of internal controls.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to exercise work schedule flexibility.
- Experience with gaming machines and up‑to‑date knowledge of issues involved in the regulation of gaming, including scam and fraud detection.
- Experience in surveillance or law enforcement desirable, as well as a background working in a casino operations position.
- Native American preference applies.
- Must be able to pass an extensive background check with the Eastern Shoshone Tribe.
