WCHS is searching for dedicated, caring individuals to join our team of highly qualified Certified Nursing Assistants in the hospital. Our CNAs are critical to the safety and health of our patients.

CNAs provide daily care specific to the diagnosis and age of each patient or resident, under the direct supervision of the floor nurses. They also help keep the patient or resident rooms tidy and orderly, and provide encouragement to patients, to function at their highest level.

We have 3 positions open:

• 1 day shift
• 1 night shift
• 1 PRN

• Answer patient calls and determine the best course of action to support them
• Provide physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene
• Turn and reposition bedridden patients as required
• Ensure patients receive appropriate diet by reviewing dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences
• Obtaining a wide range of information regarding patient condition, treatment plans, and suggested activities as needed
• Measure and record food and liquid intake
• Record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate as requested
• Examine patients to detect issues requiring medical care
• Note observations of patient behavior, including complaints or physical symptoms to nurses
• Assist visitors with directions whenever requested
• Always introduce self to patients, residents, families, and visitors when appropriate
• Report safety hazards as appropriate
• Replenish supplies as needed
• Follow all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, standard precautions, and isolation precautions

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Exceptional knowledge of medical terminology and processes.
• Has and maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Occasional after-hours calls may occur including nights and weekends.
• Must be able to access, find, and navigate each department at WCHS.
• Position requires light to moderate work with 50 pounds maximum weight to lift and carry.
• Position requires reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing.
