Job Summary

The F&B Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the food and beverage vision of JHGTC: delivering exceptional guest service and high-quality food to guests. This role includes complete management of the North Grille (excluding kitchen staff) in cooperation with the F&B Director. Day-to-day duties include front-of-house personnel management, guest and member communication, club event management, end-of-day accounting, and POS system updates.

The incumbent should be knowledgeable of the company’s hospitality, environmental, health and safety policies and initiatives and align with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support F&B Management Initiatives and manage all activities and staff of the North Grille to ensure smooth lunch and/or dinner service. Participate in staff training and education to promote guest experiences. Assist with scheduling, supervising, coaching, and disciplinary action as needed.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of the F&B department, including menu ingredients and preparations, beverage service, service hours, club events, and inventory needs for service.
  • Be hands-on in service: greet and seat guests, answer phones, take reservations, run food, bus tables, prepare drinks, and assist with POS issues.
  • Display proper service etiquette and maintain a sense of urgency, ensuring clean service areas, prompt greetings, efficient dining room flow, and positive guest interactions.
  • Manage ordering and inventory for FOH and bar; assist with monthly inventory and maintain clean, organized work areas.
  • Provide feedback to the F&B Director and Executive Chef with guest comments, service issues, and improvement ideas. Monitor service flow and pace; report incidents and safety concerns as needed.
  • Lead daily shift meetings to inform staff of reservations, special requests, and learnings from prior service.
  • Maintain respect and professionalism across all coworkers and departments; support clear interdepartmental communication.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all restaurant areas and work spaces; assist with putting away banquet items and orders as required.
Job Requirements
  • 3+ years of F&B experience preferred
  • Fine dining experience preferred
  • Training experience preferred
  • 1+ year experience preferred
  • TIPS Certification
  • Prior POS use/training; POS programming experience preferred
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • End-of-day cash close-out experience
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work long hours and varied shifts

Pay and Compliance
