Job DescriptionThe Applications Engineer is responsible for software support of our installation team, integrating multiple software applications into solutions, handling system commissioning, upgrades, and diagnostics. The Engineer will use SDKs and APIs for integration and perform customized integration between software.
Responsibilities- Use technologies such as Industrial Automation and Human-Machine Interface (HMI), door control and monitoring, as well as full system integration with access control, CCTV, and other systems.
- Handle LAN & Network configurations, including wireless communication systems.
- Perform system diagnostics and troubleshooting to ensure a fully functioning system.
- Work with Project Managers, End Users, and Technician team to provide assistance with software systems.
- Troubleshoot project issues and elevate significant issues to management as needed.
- Partner with the Project Management team to coordinate project and work schedules for optimal efficiency.
- Lead End User software training.
- High School Diploma with security industry experience.
- Positions require additional background check by the State beyond standard Allied Universal screening.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a PLC programmer, including detailed knowledge of PLC automation software and coding languages.
- Knowledge of software design principles.
- Experience in IT networking, switches, & structured cabling infrastructure.
- Proficiency in CAD and AutoCAD software.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel when required.
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Electrical and mechanical engineering experience.
- PLC technical certification.
- Product knowledge of Rockwell Automation (Allen Bradley), Aveva, Wonderware, and related systems.
- Certifications in access control, CCTV, or other security systems.

- Vacation time accrued at 3.08 hours biweekly; unused vacation paid out only where required by law.
