Occupational Therapist - PRN

Assumes full responsibility for evaluating patients' need for occupational therapy.  Plans and executes individual treatment programs in accordance with the state of Michigan licensure and OT scope of practice.  Keeps treatment skills updated through continuing education, evidence-based research, and program development. Perform job responsibilities in accordance with the program’s strategic objectives and goals to carry out organizational strategic objectives.

Job Responsibilities
** Establishes treatment goals in collaboration with patient and family as appropriate, and in collaboration with the treatment team. Treatment goals should be interdisciplinary and patient-centered whenever possible. Establishes written treatment plan, and administers treatment for each patient according to the stated goals.  Delegates responsibilities to occupational therapy assistants as appropriate.

Demonstrates competence in relevant software and hardware required to meet job responsibilities. Communicates with others to integrate occupational therapy treatment with all aspects of patient care. **(Q,S)
** Instructs the patient and the family in occupational therapy procedures as part of  providing patient and family education including written instructions as necessary.

Serves as clinical instructor for occupational therapy students.  Supervises, teaches, and evaluates skills of students. Communicates with participating universities regarding skill levels of students.

** Graduate of an American Occupational Therapy Association accredited Occupational Therapy program.

Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. Licensure is required in every US State and Territory the Therapist is practicing. Licensure requirements should be met according to individual State laws.
