Position Summary:

The Leave Management Supervisor oversees the administration of leave of absence for workplace injuries, local, state, and federal protected leaves, disability leaves, and leave-related accommodations. Provides special guidance and assistance to employees and HR teams in all U.S. locations related to leave management. Interprets leave plans, policies, and practices. Develops cost control procedures to assure maximum value to company and employees.

Ensures leave plan compliance with state, provincial, and federal laws. Utilizes software applications for trend analysis and creates strategic interventions accordingly.

What you will do:
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to drive change management initiatives.
  • Administers U.S. leave of absences and manages vendor relationships, reviewing vendor services and addressing performance as needed.
  • Supervises U.S. Leave of Absence department employees by overseeing all projects and escalated employee issues from vendors, employees, and beneficiaries in a quick, equitable and courteous manner.
  • Supports the management of vendor relationships, reviewing vendor services and addressing performance as needed.
  • Participates in vendor reviews, plan design discussions and budgeting processes.
  • Processes vendor billing with report creation, validation and check requests while monitoring expenses.
  • Interviews, hires, trains, and retains staff. Conducts performance monitoring of staff, initiates follow through with disciplinary action and termination in consultation with Human Resources when appropriate for the department. Mentors, motivates, and develops staff. Serves as a role model.
  • Provides vision and leadership to direct reports. Responsible for helping develop skills and abilities of employees.
  • Manages the department budget.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
When you will work:
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.
  • Hybrid

    Work Schedule:

    4 days in office, 1 day from home.
What you bring to the table:
  • Requires a degree plus five or more years of experience in Human Resources or related applicable fields.
  • Prior people management or leadership experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related required.
  • HR Certification (such as SHRM or HRCI) preferred.
  • Expertise in state/federal leave of absence and workers' compensation laws.
  • Budget monitoring and financial data analysis (billing/payment).
  • Advanced critical thinking, claims data analysis, and translation into actionable program recommendations.
  • Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication; skilled in conflict resolution and customer service.
  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and team leadership skills (including motivating and developing staff).
  • Independent decision-making, project management, budgeting, and a strong focus on organization and deadlines.
