Fire Suppression Technician

Vanguard Fire & Security Systems, Inc. is currently looking for an experienced Fire Suppression Technician with previous service experience testing and inspecting a variety of fire protection systems.

• Perform troubleshooting service, inspection, and repairs of fire sprinkler systems.
• Read blueprints for existing pipe layout and make the right equipment accommodations to complete the job.
• Communicate with customers to understand system deficiencies and provide repair recommendations.
• Document inspections, repairs and deficiencies.
• Share job information for follow up quotes, questions, or concerns.
• Maintain a safe work environment and remain in compliance with company safety protocols.
• Respond to service calls as part of an on‑call rotation that may require after‑hour or weekend availability.

• Previous experience in fire suppression and fire alarm systems is preferred.
• 1–3 years of customer service experience.
• High School Diploma / GED required.
• Trade school or apprenticeship preferred.
• Excellent mechanical skills and ability to work from blueprints.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Maintain strong attention to detail in a physically demanding environment.

Location:

Grand Rapids, MI

Salary: $17.00–$25.00 per hour.
