POSITION SUMMARY

The Pre-Fit Assembler is responsible for the construction of all work pieces to be utilized in the fabrication of the fire apparatus body and/or pump modules. This position operates fabricating machinery such as shears and drill press. Pre
- Fit Assemblers must manage the inventory for all material shelves in the department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Hand tools

• Grinders
• Cut off wheels
• Shear
• Tape measure

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

• High school diploma/GED.
• Strong mechanical and technical ability required.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.

• Able to read and work from blueprints/spec books.
• Able to read and understand a tape measure accurately.
• Able to follow written and verbal directions.

• Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

• General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Solid Works, and Adobe/PDFs.
• Able to perform simple computer tasks to obtain information/changes related to the build process and/or troubleshoot.

• Able to identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed.
• Able to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.
• Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
• Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.

• Driving licence.
• Own vehicle.
• Hours of work – ability to work evenings and/or weekends occasionally.
• Overtime as needed to meet the needs of the department.
• Travel – Local.
• Travel – Overnight.
