POSITION SUMMARY

The AC & DC Electrician will be responsible for all 100v and 24v wires and equipment to be installed. They will read truck specification books to know what all is required. The AC & DC Electrician will install all electrical components onto the fire apparatus. Also, they will prepare for light installation by drilling holes and fabricating.

Tools to be utilized:

Hand tools, power tools, grinders, cut off wheels, and tape measure.

Knowledge, Education, and/or

Experience:

• High school diploma/GED.
• Strong mechanical and technical ability required.
• Low voltage electrical experience required.
• 110V Electrical experience preferred.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.

Skills:

Language:

• Able to read and work from blueprints/spec books.
• Able to read and understand a tape measure accurately.
• Able to follow written and verbal directions.

Math:

• Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Computer:

• Able to perform simple computer tasks to obtain information/changes related to the build process and/or troubleshoot.

Abilities:

• Able to identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed.
• Able to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.
• Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
• Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.
