Process Engineer

Opportunity

The Process Engineer provides technical support to refinery operations at a Wyoming refinery. The role includes design modifications, troubleshooting, maintenance of facilities, and specification of process instrumentation.

• Monitor daily operations of assigned process units.
• Assist in troubleshooting and optimization of process units.
• Assess and monitor long‑term unit trends.
• Support startup, shutdown, and turnaround activities.
• Perform economic analyses and identify cost‑saving or value‑adding improvements.
• Enforce safety and environmental regulations.
• Communicate daily with operators regarding unit performance and capital project feedback.
• Size and select PSVs, control valves, orifice plates, and other flow devices.
• Conduct PHAs and support PSM roles in MOC, PSSR, and PSI.
• Assist with P&t and updates.
• Provide technical support to the maintenance department.
• Support project engineering activities (cost estimates, material requisitions).
• Available for off‑hour work during emergencies and turnarounds.

Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.

• Preferable experience in a petroleum refinery or chemical engineering environment.
• 3‑8 years of refining engineering experience or 4 years of refinery experience.
• Ability to climb towers and vessels, work at heights, and in confined spaces.
• Safety and environmental sensitivity.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills; ability to work with multifunctional teams.

• Personal protective equipment required: safety glasses, earplugs, gloves, steel‑toed shoes, hard hats, Nomex, respirator.
• May require work on holidays and weekends, including outside standard business hours.

• Frequent walking, standing, crouching, and climbing.
• Lift up to 60 lbs.
• Vision 20/40 or better, depth perception, full field, color discrimination.
• Exposure to heat, noise, vibration, fumes.
