Utility Operator Position

Location: Alpine, Wyoming
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Range: $34.00 – $40.00 per hour
Work Location: In person

The Town of Alpine is seeking a qualified and dedicated Utility Operator to join our team. This position is responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance, and repair of the town’s water and wastewater systems. Reporting to the Utility Supervisor, the Utility Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of our public utility services.

Water System:

Operate and maintain water treatment and distribution systems

Conduct water sampling, testing, and reporting

Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance

Respond to service requests and emergency repairs

Wastewater System:

Operate and maintain wastewater collection and treatment systems

Maintain sewer lines, lift stations, and treatment equipment

Perform inspections, sampling, and compliance testing

Respond to blockages and emergencies

General Utility Support:

Maintain work spaces, tools, and equipment

Assist with record keeping and documentation

Support capital projects and emergency response efforts

Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours needs

Minimum 3 years of experience in wastewater treatment

Level II Wastewater Treatment License (Wyoming or convertible from out of state)

Level I Water License (Wyoming or convertible from out of state)

Valid driver’s license

Must be able to pass Level III Wastewater Certification within 12 months

Strong communication, teamwork, and compliance skills

Ability to perform manual labor in outdoor and adverse conditions
